1. About this policy
Zevuniq ("we", "us") provides electric vehicle subscriptions and daily rental in Melbourne, Victoria. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct your information or make a complaint.
2. What we collect
- Contact details: your name, mobile number, email address and residential address.
- Identity details: date of birth, driver licence details (number, card number, state or country, expiry, type) and images of the front and back of your licence, passport or photo ID details and images, and a licence translation where needed.
- Application details: the service and vehicle you choose, term or rental dates, how you will use the car, additional drivers, and, for business customers, your business name, ABN and fleet size.
- Driving history and declarations: how long you have held your licence and, where you tell us, criminal convictions, driving offences, insurance history and medical conditions that may affect your driving.
- Vehicle and usage information: while you have one of our cars, a telematics device in the vehicle records its location, speed, distance, battery and charging status and driving events.
- Account and payment information: your agreement, payments, bond, tolls, fines and claims. If you pay by card, your card is handled by our payment provider and we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: emails, calls and messages you send us, and your marketing preferences.
- Website information: our website host keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
3. Sensitive information
Information about criminal convictions and health is sensitive information. We collect it only with your consent, which you give when you submit an application, and we use it only to assess your eligibility and to arrange insurance cover.
4. How we collect it
We collect most information directly from you: through our online application, by phone, by email or in person. With your consent we may also collect information from identity-verification services that check your documents with the issuer, and from insurers. While you have one of our vehicles, we collect vehicle information through its telematics device.
5. Why we use it
- to verify your identity and driver licence and assess your application;
- to arrange insurance and prepare, manage and end your subscription or rental agreement;
- to deliver, collect, service, locate and recover our vehicles, and to keep them and you safe;
- to manage kilometres, payments, the bond, tolls, fines, damage and claims;
- to answer your enquiries and tell you about your application;
- to meet our legal obligations, including nominating drivers for fines when the law requires it; and
- to send you news and offers, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
If you don't give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to assess your application or provide a vehicle.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above, with:
- our insurers and insurance brokers;
- identity-verification services, with your consent;
- road authorities, toll operators, police and courts, where the law requires or allows it;
- service providers who work for us: secure database and document storage (Supabase), website hosting (Vercel), email and text-message notifications to our team (Resend and ClickSend), vehicle telematics, and payment processing; and
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Where your information is stored
Your application, identity details and documents are stored in a private database and file store in Sydney, Australia. Some of our service providers may handle limited information outside Australia: our website host (United States) delivers the website, our email notification provider (United States) sends our team alerts that include your name and contact details, and vehicle telematics data may be processed overseas by our telematics provider. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers protect your information.
8. How we protect it
Application data and documents are kept in private storage that cannot be read from our website. Only authorised Zevuniq staff can access them, using accounts protected by multi-factor authentication. We ask you never to email photos of your licence or passport; please use the secure upload in our application.
9. How long we keep it
If your application is declined or withdrawn, we delete your licence and identity documents within 90 days. If you become a customer, we keep your information for the life of your agreement and then for up to 7 years, as needed for tax, insurance and legal purposes, before deleting or de-identifying it.
10. Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing admin@zevuniq.com.au. We will confirm your identity first and respond within 30 days.
11. Complaints
